Folds of Honor Foundation Headquarters
The Folds of Honor Foundation (FHF) along with the Oklahoma Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) dedicated the Folds of Honor Headquarters at the Patriot Golf Club July 6th 2010. M.L. Jones is one of many ABC member companies who together donated labor and materials totaling approximately $850,000.00 for the completion of the project.
Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities. FHF provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service to our great nation. The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 pilot, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq.
“It's so humbling to think that during the economic times we're in, a group of contractors (can) get together and donate a $1.4 million building to the Folds of Honor Foundation."
- Major Rooney
M.L. Jones donated labor for the Wood and Metal Framing, Exterior Sheathing, and various Carpentry portions of the project. This project appeared difficult with its swooping roof framing and overall architecture, but with the right initiative the mission was a success for everyone involved. The end result is a beautifully constructed 3,600sqft monument intended for the men and women, and their families, who served our country.
The Folds of Honor Foundation has made a great impact not only locally, but nationally. A special thanks to all employees who worked hard on the Headquarters and represented M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. with pride. We are grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the community, and proud to be a part of such a worthy cause.
