M.L. Jones In-House Apprenticeship Program
The M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. Carpentry Apprenticeship Program is a four year work/study program designed to educate the apprentice in all aspects of the trade while simultaneously providing paid On the Job Training. After successfully completing the apprenticeship program, the M. L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. employee will have accrued or obtained the equivalent of 715 hours of classroom education, 5,200 to 8,000 hours of On the Job Training, and will receive a certificate of completion from the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as, a certificate of completion and wallet card from the National Center for Construction Education and Research. The program consists of two segments; “On the Job Training” (OJT) and 715 hours of classroom curriculum and lab training as prescribed by both accrediting entities.
The “OJT” portion of the program consists of eight, six month segments. During each segment, the employee will receive hands on training in the mechanics of the trade commensurate with that particular level. The employee’s performance and work categories will be monitored and documented by a qualified M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. supervisor via the OJT evaluation form.
The Classroom Education portion consist of eight semesters of classroom training; 2 semesters per year for 4 years. Instruction modules for classroom sessions and labs are based on the National Center for Construction Education and Research prescribed curriculum, as well as M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. in-house curriculum for each respective classification. All program instructors are trained and certified by the in house National Center for Construction Education and Research Master Trainer. Classes meet 1 night a week for 4 hours each night. Homework will be required. Classes start with the basics of the industry and progressively cover topics needed by the employee to effectively function as a Journeyman Carpenter as required by M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc, including the Carpenter's role in a "Green" environment.
Upon Successful Completion of our Program, Employees can earn $16.00 - $18.00 per hour as a Certified Journeyman.
Any employee of M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. may enroll in its Apprenticeship Program if the criteria below are met.
Open Enrollment occurs 1 time per year. Only motivated, hardworking, and responsible employees will graduate this program. Upon Graduation you will be among the top Qualified/Certified Journeyman within our organization.

A Certified Journeyman is defined as having successfully completed the requirements of M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. Apprenticeship Program to the standards and guidelines set forth by the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship, the National Center for Construction Education and Research, and M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. Certified Journeyman will have all verifiable credentials issued by the accrediting entities as required by M.L. Jones Acoustics, Inc. Apprenticeship Program.
